Imo Gov Sacks IMSU VC, Appoints Replacement

Imo state students berate Rochas over non-payment of bursary awards



The Vice Chancellor of Imo State University (IMSU), Prof. Ukachukwu Awuzie has been sacked by Imo state governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, with the former commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy matters, Adaobi Obasi, appointed as acting VC.


Th governor announced the sack yesterday, while dissolving the state executive cabinet after being sworn-in for a second term in office.

No reason was given for the sack but media reports says it be connected to a power tussle between the ranks of the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) south east chapter.
