22-year-old Emerges Overall Best Graduate At Covenant University

A 22-year-old student of Electrical Engineering of the Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Ebubechukwu Emmanuel, has emerged the best graduating student of the institution.

Addressing guests during the 10th convocation ceremony of the institution recently, Ebubechukwu said that the admirable set of graduates released by the institution into the society would serve as a ‘balm of gilead’ that would solve the problems confronting Nigeria and the African continent as a whole.

“My days in school have assisted me to understand that problems can be solved by joining hands as a people. I appreciate our parents and our lecturers for their support both financially and morally,” he said.

In a related development, two students from the English Language Department of the institution, Eyisi Chioma and Joshua Idaraobong, came out with first class honours.

In his message at the event, the Chancellor of Covenant University, Dr David Oyedepo, said that quality education remained the major veritable tool to build any nation.

The 10th convocation ceremony also featured the conferment of honorary doctorate degrees and presentation of prizes to deserving individuals and students of the school.

The number of graduating students were 1,315 for the 2014/2015 set.

They comprised 104 students, who bagged first class honours, 610 graduated with second class upper division, 510 had second class lower division, 91 had third class division, while 135 students graduated at post graduate level.
