Ojo said, “The objectives of establishing the NCSC is to ‘ catch them young’ and train them as vanguards for consumer protection. We had to find ways of getting school children interested and actively participate in the activities of the club.
“One of the ways we chose to achieve this is through this annual secondary school competition and we make every efforts to keep it competitive, transparent and fair.’’
In the senior category, Akinmade Akinboboye, from Greater Tomorrow Secondary School, Arigidi Akoko, won the first prize while Oni Damilola of Model Secondary School Akure won the second prize and Akinduro Elizabeth, from Unity Secondary School, Ode Aye, won the third.
While commending the efforts of all the pupils who participated in the competition, Ojo encouraged them to remain active.
He also encouraged the pupils to report any suspicious activities of fake drug dealers in their environments to the office of the Agency in the state.
He added that the NAFDAC Safety Club was formed by the agency as part of its public enlightenment strategy for eradicating fake and substandard regulated products from circulation.
