UNIPORT Terminal Certificate Programme Application Form Out – 2014/15

UNIPORT Terminal Certificate Programme admission form for 2014/2015 session is available on sale. The application form has been out on sale since March 9 and will close on April 10 2015. Interested members of the public are hereby informed.

The University Of Port Harcourt invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Certificate Programmes of the Centre for Sandwich and Skill Acquisition of the Institute of Education in collaboration with the College of Continuing Education, University of Port Harcourt, for the 2014/2015 Session.A.       TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMMES
1. Department of Educational Management
Education Social Science (for candidates offering Economics, Accounting, Political Science and Geography respectively).
2. Department of Educational Foundations
Education Arts (for candidates offering English, French, Religious Studies and History respectively).
3. Department of Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology
Education Science (for candidates offering Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Computer Science respectively).

B.       PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMMES
1. Department of Adult and Non-formal Education
2. Department of Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counseling
3. Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The Programmes are open to applicants who have any of the following minimum qualification:-
1.      Department of Educational Management
  1. Credit passes at the Ordinary Level in at least three subjects in West African School Certificate/National Examination Council Certificate/NABTEB/General Certificate of Education, including at least a Pass in English Language, for Economics or Accounting Option, credit pass in Mathematics is compulsory.
  2. Credit or Merit passes in at least three relevant subjects in Teacher Grade Two Certificate including at least Merit in English Language. For Economics or Accounting option, credit pass in Mathematics and Economics is compulsory.
2.      Department of Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology
  1. Credit passes at the Ordinary Level in at least three relevant subjects in West African School Certificate/National Examination Council Certificate/NABTEB/General Certificate of Education, including at least a Pass in English Language.
  2. Credit or Merit passes in at least three relevant subjects in Teacher Grade Two Certificate including at least Credit or Merit in English Language.
3.      Department of Educational Foundations
  1. Credit passes at the Ordinary Level in at least three relevant subjects in West African School Certificate/National Examination Council Certificate/NABTEB/General Certificate of Education, including at least a Pass in English Language.
  2. Credit or Merit passes in at least three relevant subjects in Teacher Grade Two Certificate, including at least Credit or Merit in English Language.
4.      Department of Human Kinetics & Health Education
  1. Credit passes at the Ordinary Level in at least three relevant subjects in West African School Certificate/National Examination Council Certificate/NABTEB/General Certificate of Education, including at least a Pass in English Language and Biology.
  2. Credit or Merit passes in at least three relevant subjects in Teacher Grade Two Certificate, including at least Merit in English Language.
5.      Department of Adult and Non Formal Education
  1. Credit passes at the Ordinary Level in at least three relevant subjects in West African School Certificate/National Examination Council Certificate/NABTEB/General Certificate of Education, including at least a Pass in English Language.
  2. Credit or Merit passes in at least three relevant subjects in Teacher Grade Two Certificate, including at least Merit in English Language.
6.      Department of Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counseling
  1. Credit passes at the Ordinary Level in at least three relevant subjects in West African School Certificate/National Examination Council Certificate/NABTEB/General Certificate of Education, including at least a Pass in English Language.
  2. Credit or Merit passes in at least three relevant subjects in Teacher Grade Two Certificate, including at least Merit in English Language.

MODE OF STUDY: Regular and Weekends.

Duration Of UNIPORT Terminal Cert Programmes For 2014/15

The duration of the Programme is 1 year for Regular and 2 years for Weekends.

C.        VOCATIONAL EDUCATION (TERMINAL)
HOME ECONOMICS EDUCATION
a.       Home Economics.
b.      Home Management.
c.       Textile Trade: (i) Garment Making (ii) Textile (iii) Tie and Dye and Bleaching
d.      Catering Craft Practice: (i) Restaurant Management (ii) Hotel Management
e.       Housing and Interior Decoration
f.       Home Economics Entrepreneurship Education
g.      Cosmetology
MODE OF STUDY: Regular and Weekends.
DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
The duration of the Programme is from 4 weeks to 4 months (Weekends), 1 year (Regular) and 2 years (Sandwich)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The minimum requisite qualification for entry to the above listed courses include:-
  1. Credit passes at the Ordinary Level in at least three relevant subjects in West African School Certificate/National Examination Council Certificate/NABTEB/General Certificate of Education, including at least a Pass in English Language.
  2. Credit or Merit passes in at least three relevant subjects in Teacher Grade Two certificate including at least Credit or Merit in English Language and any science subject.

D.        TECHNICAL EDUCATION
TRADES – Web Designing; Handset Repairs; Carpentry and Joinery; Plumbing and Pipe Fitting; Painting and Decoration; Welding and Fabrication; Building and Craftsmanship; Electrical and Maintenance Works; Radio, Television and Electrical Works; Instrument and Mechanic Work; Appliance Maintenance and Repair Craft Practices; Computer Craft General Studies; Photography; Craft; General Metal Works; Bricklaying; Block Laying, Concrete Work and Furniture Making.

DURATION OF STUDY:
The duration of the Programme is from 4 weeks to 4 months (Weekends), 1 year (Regular) and 2 years (Sandwich)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The minimum requisite qualification for entry to the above listed courses include:-
i. Credit passes at the Ordinary Level in at least three (3) subjects in West African School Certificate/National Examination Council Certificate/NABTEB/General Certificate of Education.
ii. Credit or Merit passes in at least three (3) subjects in Teacher Grade Two certificate including at least Credit or Merit in English Language and any science subject.
E.        BUSINESS EDUCATION
a. Office Practice
b. Store Keeping
c. Stenography
d. Book Keeping
e. Marketing
f. Management
g. Finance Management
h. Accounting

DURATION OF STUDY
The duration of the course is 1 year for Regular and 2 years for Weekends.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
  1. Credit passes at the Ordinary Level in at least three relevant subjects in West African School Certificate/National Examination Council Certificate/NABTEB/General Certificate of Education, including at least a Pass in English Language.

F.      SHORT COURSES
HEALTH EDUCATION AND PRIMARY HEALTH CARE (TERMINAL)
  1. Nursing Education
  2. First Aid and Safety Measures in the Home
  3. Coaching and Officiating in Sports
  4. Human Wellbeing and Development
  5. Family Health and Diseases Prevention
  6. Industrial Health and Safety Education
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Credit passes in four (4) O/L subjects including English Language, Biology and Chemistry.
DURATION: The duration of the Programme is from 4 weeks to 4 months (Weekends), 1 year (Regular) and 2 years (Sandwich)

SPECIAL SHORT COURSES
Skills in various Trades (Vocational and Technical Education) are available. No academic qualification and aptitude test are required. Philanthropists, Women Organization, Corporate Bodies, Local and State Governments can empower their youths through this Programme.

DURATION
The duration of the Programme is from 4 weeks to 4 months (Weekends), 1 year (Regular) and 2 years (Sandwich)

How To Apply For UNIPORT Terminal Certificate Programmes (FOR A-F)

  1. Application Forms can be obtained online on payment of non-refundable fee of N8,150.00 (Eight Thousand, One Hundred and Fifty Naira) from Monday, 9th March, 2015.
  2. For A, Application Forms can be obtained online on payment of non-refundable fee of N5,000.00 (Five Thousand Naira) from Monday, 9th March, 2015.
  3. For F, Application Forms can be obtained online on payment of non-refundable fee of N4,000.00 (Four Thousand Naira) from Monday, 9th March, 2015.
All Application Forms for the various UNIPORT terminal certificate programmes are online. Log on to www.uniport.edu.ng and click on ‘register’ to sign up and print payment slip.
Proceed to any of the designated Banks listed below and pay to obtain an e-Tranzact receipt:
  • Uniport – Choba Micro Finance Bank
  • United Bank for Africa (UBA)
  • First Bank Plc.
  • Fidelity Bank Plc.
  • Eco Bank Plc.
Log-in back to your account and verify your payment using the Confirmation Order Number on the e-Tranzact receipt, fill in the necessary information, upload your passport photograph and print your photocard for the Screening Test.

UNIPORT Terminal Certificate Programme 2014/15 Form Closing Date

The sale of Application Forms for (A-F above) will close on Friday, 10th April, 2015.
The sale of Form for the Short Courses is continuous, no closing date as they take place 3 – 5 times a year.

UNIPORT Terminal Cert. Programme Entrance Exam Schedule

There will be a University Screening Test which will be Computer Based. The Screening Test will take place on Wednesday, 15th April, 2015.
