Three 300-level students of the Bayero University Kano (BUK) have been expelled for raping a female student.
The head, Directorate of Examinations, Admissions and Records (DEAR), Hajiya Fatima Binta Mohammed, said in the university’s current bulletin that management had approved the expulsion of the students for criminal conspiracy, threat to life and rape.
She named the students as Abdulsalam Abduljalil, Tijjani Mohammed and William Seyi Solanke, all of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences. The management has directed that the result of the three students be withheld.
A source at the school said the female student was raped outside one of the three female hostels at night while she was reading.
