FUTA Professor Appointed Pioneer Rector of Ile-Oluji Polytechnic

The Federal Government has approved the appointment of Professor Adedayo Fasakin of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) as the Pioneer Rector of the newly Established Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State.

Until this appointment, Prof. Fasakin was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of FUTA. He brings to his new position an impressive academic and managerial experience spanning over three decades.

Fasakin, a Professor of Fish Nutrition and Utilization is a specialist in Fish Nutrition, post-harvest technology, pond management and environmental and aquatic pollution. Fasakin comes to the office with an impressive administrative credential garnered over the years.

He was at different times, Head of Department, Dean of Students Affairs, Acting Vice-Chancellor, Member of the University Senate, Chairman and Member of several statutory and ad-hoc committees of the FUTA.
58-year-old Fasakin, did his degree programmes at the University of Ibadan (UI), the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) and University of Plymouth, England.
