7 First Class, as RSUST Graduate 5,155 Students

No fewer than 5,155 students will receive their first degree certificates during the 27th convocation ceremony of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology(RSUST), scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2015.

Addressing the press during the pre-convocation briefing, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barineme Fakae said that seven of the graduating students bagged First Class Honours.

He disclosed that 445 graduates bagged higher degrees in various disciplines as follows: MSC Law, 50; Education, 25; Philosophy, 26; Science, 35; Technical and Sciences, 35; MBA, 41; PGD, 203 and PHD, 26.

Fakae said that the institution has successfully implemented an online examinations system which was introduced to remove irregularities and difficulties associated with manual examinations.

The VC also announced the appointment of three emeritus professors after a four months thorough online assessment and approval of the institution’s senate.
