No fewer than 58 students from Alode,
Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, are benefitting from the
Enercon Nigeria Limited Scholarship Scheme this year.
Beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme,
worth N12m, are children of members of the Nkiken Oka Mba Landlords’
Association in various tertiary institutions and secondary schools in
the country.
Speaking at the award ceremony in Port
Harcourt, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the oil company,
Chief Chris Iheanacho, said the gesture was in fulfilment of the firm’s
promise to members of the Alaode community.
Noting that education was a key to
growth and empowerment, Iheanacho appealed to the recipients to make
judicious use of the offer.
Represented by the Head, Business
Development at Enercon, Mr. Chima Ukoumunne, Iheanacho also promised
that the company would employ some youths from the community at the
completion of its project in the area.
