The Nasarawa State Government has undertaken the payment of the National Examination Council (NECO) registration fee for students in the state.
Governor of the state, Tanko Al-Makura, said that the reason for the payment is to enable children of the less privileged have access to education.
He said that the state government spends over N20 million monthly on feeding boarding school students in the state as part of his administrations resolve to improve quality of education in the state.
Al-Makura disclosed that over twenty two boarding schools in the state are beneficiaries of the gesture.
The governor, however, called on parents to report any principal who demands NECO registration fees and others charges from the students.
