OAU Teaching Hospital School of Nursing Form now on Sale

The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Teaching Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Nursing programmes:

A. Basic General Nursing.
B. Post-Basic General Nursing.
C. Peri-Operative Nursing.
1. BASIC GENERAL NURSING
This is a three-year program commencing in October, 2015.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must possess: WAEC/SSCE/GCE or NECO, SSCE/GCE 5 Credits (at not more than two sittings) in English language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. He or She should be at least Seventeen (17) years old on admission.

2. POST BASIC GENERAL NURSING
REQUIREMENTS: i) Applicants must:-possess WAEC,SSCE/GCE or NECO,SSCE/GCE – 5 Credits (at not more than two sittings) in English language, Mathematics and three Sciences i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
ii) Be a Registered Midwife or Psychiatric Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
iii) Have at least one year post registration working experience after the mandatory Community one year service (Midwives only).
3. PERI-OPERATIVE NURSING
This is a Twelve (12) month program commencing in November, 2015.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must:-
a. Possess the WAEC,SSCE/GCE or NECO, SSCE/GCE with at least 5 Credits (at not more than two sittings) in English Language and at least one Science subject i.e. Physics, Chemistry or Biology for candidates who finished General Nursing before 2006.
b. Possess English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for Candidates who finished General Nursing from 2006.
c. Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
d. Have at least one year post qualification experience.

Application forms are obtainable from Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Schools of Nursing, Ife Hospital Unit, Ile-Ife and Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa at a cost of Five Thousand (N5,000.00) Naira only payable by cash to:

SCREENING DETAILS

1. Basic General Nursing: Entrance examination shall be conducted by the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Nursing & Midwifery Committee on Saturday, 6th June, 2015.

2. Post-Basic General Nursing: Written test will hold on 30th June, 2015 while Oral Interview follows on 2nd and 3rd July, 2015.

3. Peri-Operative Nursing: Written Test holds 16th June, 2015 and Oral Interview on 17th – 19th July, 2015.

CLOSING DATES

1. Basic and Post-Basic General Nursing: Completed application form should be returned to the office of the Principal, Schools of Nursing, I.H.U. and W.G.H. respectively on or before 28th May, 2015.

2. Peri-Operative Nursing: Completed application form, duly endorsed by sponsors, together with photocopies of relevant credentials should be returned to office of the Coordinator, School of Perioperative Nursing latest by 5th June, 2015.
