Ogun State Government on Monday disclosed
that 22,700 primary school pupils in both private and primary schools
sat for the qualifying test into the state public secondary schools with
boarding facilities.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Segun Odubela, made the disclosure while speaking with journalists at the end of the monitoring exercise.
The Commissioner, who was represented by the Director of Secondary Schools, Idowu Adegbesan, commended Ogun people for the success of the exercise, saying that all qualified primary six pupils would be posted to secondary schools close to their areas of residence.
‘’Let me tell you that merit will be considered, admission into the schools will be strictly based on the performance of the pupils. We will not compromise standard,’’ the Commissioner said.
