The Zamfara Government has introduced new allowances to corps members serving in rural areas of the state.

The state Governor, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, announced this while speaking at the closing ceremony of Batch “A” 2016 corps members posted to the state at permanent orientation camp in Tsafe Local Government Area of of the state on Friday. But the governor did not give a figure of what will be paid.

Yari, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Abdullahi Shinkafi, said that giving special allowances to corps members posted to rural areas became necessary, considering the task before them in serving in such areas.

He said that the state government enjoyed the many contributions NYSC members offered to it in the areas of education, health and agriculture, “therefore, we have to do everything possible to encourage them.”
