The Public Relations Officer of The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dr Fabian Benjamin has disclosed that the board has begun the inspection of facilities for the 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. According to him, over 600 facilities nationwide have been so far inspected for accreditation as centres for the conduct of the 2016 Computer Based Test (CBT).
It was learnt that the board intends to inspect over 1, 000 facilities for accreditation and that only those that met the requirements would be accredited as centres for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
He emphasized that the board is very much interested in the technical aspect of each of the facilities and called for more public and private partnership in establishing well equipped centres.
“Some of the things we are looking out for have a lot to do with the technical aspect.
“For these centres to meet our requirements, they must have not less than 250 computers with reliable power source.
“The computer centres must be integrated with the local area network and there must equally be a high and accessible security in and around such centres.” He said.
