A former Vice chancellor of the University of Ibadan and one of Africa’s
renowned professors of history, Emeritus Professor Tekena Tamuno has
been reported dead.
He died on April 11th at the age of 83 years.
It was learnt that he recently came back from the United States of America where he was treated for prostate cancer before his demise.
Efforts to get his family member to comment on his death proved abortive as they blatantly refused to interact with the news men on the issue stating that the demise of the professor was a “private affair.”
The professor has been described as an extremely cerebral historian and foremost scholar of the humanities and man who had great faith in God by those who knew him.
