The Board of the newly established faculty of Marine Sciences of the University Of Calabar Chas been inaugurated by the pioneer Dean, Prof Francis Emile Asuquo.
Prof Francis Asuquo said while the Faculty would wait patiently for NUC approval to commence full operations in the 2015/2016 academic Session, he would work assiduously to ensure the return of all Institute of Oceanography programmes domiciled in the Faculty of Science.
While inaugurating the Board at the Conference Hall of the New Faculty, the pioneer Dean commended the efforts of the Vice Chancellor and the University Senate for approving the establishment of the faculty.
Prof Asuquo who was the immediate past Director of the Institute of Oceanography, applauded the first Director of the Institute, Prof U.K. Enyenihi and other past Directors for the foresight and determination to get the Institute started in 1983.
