The American University of Nigeria, Yola,
on Saturday May 9 graduated a total number of 210 students during the
school’s 7th Commencement ceremony. 184 of the students were
undergraduates and 19 masters students as well. Of the 184, 19 graduated
with first class honours.
During the ceremony, the president of the institution, Prof Margee Ensign charged the graduands thus: “Today is called Commencement, it marks not only the successful completion of your work with us, but most importantly it marks the start of something new; the start of your life as a university graduate, your life as an educated citizen of a democratic country.”
The National chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun who was present at the occasion in his speech said urged the graduating student to contribute their quota to the development of the nation.
“These are hard times. And when the times are hard, the tough gets going. You are going to join us in proffering solution to the new direction, the new trajectory on which this nation is going to embark from May 29, 2015.
