There was pandemonium at the postgraduate hostel of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), yesterday, as daredevils attacked occupants of the hostel.
The armed robbers attacked the hostel located at the temporal site of the university around midnight and stole several properties of the students, including laptops, mobile phones and money.
About five students were injured in the operation that lasted several minutes.
Recounting their ordeal, one of the students said that the gunmen came when most of the students were asleep and forced open the main door of the hostel.
One of the female students, who was wounded with with the butt of a gun, said the robbers made away with her research materials stored in her laptops and other personal effects, including cash.
Another student said the case of hostels’ attack by hoodlums was becoming too rampant on the campus, recalling that a similar incident occurred last Thursday.
