The Maiden Edition of Omoluabi Leadership and Cultural Summit in
honour of RT. Honorable, Prof. Mojeed Olujimi Alabi which took place at
the Engineering Lecture Hall (ELH), Faculty of Engineering, University
Of Ilorin.
The Special Assistant to the Senate President on new Media, Mr Bamikole Omisore was among dignitaries that were honoured with the National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS) Omoluabi Meritorious Award of Excellence.
The National Association of Osun State Students, Unilorin Chapter under the leadership of Comrade Olasupo Abideen Opeyemi honoured Mr Bamikole Omisore popularly known as Banks with the Most Influential Young Omoluabi of the year award.
Other awardees are Professor G.A Olatunji, (Deputy Vice Chancellor,
Research, Technology and Innovation, University of Ilorin), Hon. Semiu
Okanlawon (Director Bureau of Communication and Information, State of
Osun), Hon Kamil Tope Oyedele (Honorable member representing
Irepodun/Orolu Constituency), Barrister Oyedokun Ademola (Principal
Partner at Ademolaw Firm), Dr Mubaraq Olagunju (Ghalib Chamber), Comrade
Lawal Waheed (Chairman Osun State Civil Society Coalition), Barrister
Bola Abimbola Ige (Owner of Bola Abimbola & co firm), Barrister
Ridwan Olagunju (Common and Islamic Law lecturer, University of Ilorin)
and Comrade Amitolu Shittu (Director General, De-Raufs Volunteer Group,
Osogbo)
The President of the Association, Comrade Olasupo Abideen Opeyemi while appreciating the awardees made it known that NAOSS would not give award to any person based on money and other material things, stressing that recipient of NAOSS honour deserved the award based on their positive contributions to students and youths of the State of Osun and Nation building. He stressed further that the award given to Mr Banks Omisore was purely on merit and also to recognize his “exemplary leadership” qualities, which, serve as a source of inspiration to Nigerian youths and students.
Mr Saka Olawale and Mr Sharafadeen Lawal represented Mr Banks Omisore at the event to receive his award, Mr Banks in his message to the students thanked them for their kind gesture and assured them of his continued performance and support, he however charged the student’s association to support the student populace by identifying and communicating their needs to the relevant bodies and to stay clear of situations or activities that may bring disrepute such as riots, cultism and violence.
