An 18-year-old suspected
cultist has been arrested by the police for forcefully initiating a
15-year-old student into a secret cult in Kubwa, a satellite town in the
FCT.
City News gathered that the suspect,
simply identified as Chuka, said to be the leader of the cult group, had
persistently pressurized the victim to join their cult known as White
Garment Skull.
The source said the victim, a student of Government Junior Secondary School, Kubwa, had on several occasions, resisted the pressure until that fateful day.
“He had lured the boy to a nearby bush between Pipeline and Gbazango extension area for the initiation but the boy raised alarm which attracted attention of neighbours and other passers-by,” the source added.
According to the source, the suspect was immediately arrested by the police, who stormed the area minutes after being alerted, while the victim was rescued.
Similarly, two suspected armed robbers were also apprehended by the police in the area while trying to snatch a Toyota Siena car from a woman along Abuja-Zuba expressway.
City News learnt that the victim was traveling with her younger sister when the gang, numbering four, who were trailing them, suddenly double-crossed them with their Nissan Sunny car.
“They pushed the woman and her sister out of the car into a gutter, dispossessed her of the car, and took away the sister’s handbag containing some valuable items,” it added.
According to the source, they were already escaping with the car when the police ambush squad intercepted them at Arab road junction.
City News, however, gathered that two of the robbers were arrested while the other two escaped.
Confirming the two incidents, the Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Nurrudeen Sabo, said a big iron cutter and a spanner were recovered from the suspects which they used to threaten their victims.
He, however, said the cases would soon be transferred to the state CID for further investigations.
