The
Lagos State Government has appointed Prof. Fidelis Njokanma as the
acting Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University, Ojo.
The Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Oluranti Adebule, made this known in a letter to the Registrar of the university, Mr. Lewis Akinwunmi.
Njokanma, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), takes over from Prof. John Obafunwa, whose tenure ended last October 31.
Njokanma, a professor of Medicine, would act as the helmsman of the institution pending the appointment of a substantive vice-chancellor.
The governing council of the university, led by Prof. Adebayo Ninalowo, a professor of Sociology at the University of Lagos, recommended his appointment.
