Women teachers in large numbers have taken to protest today in Umuahia
as a way of showcasing their frustration of lack Salary payment.
The women who were displaying different types of placards are insisting that the bailout fund which was released by the Federal Government to Abia State Government have not been adequately used to pay workers, they are also drawing the attention of EFCC and ICPC to investigate the where about of the bailout fund.
Speaking with Mrs. Ngozi Ezenwa, a teacher in Ngwa High School, she said “we are frustrated, no Salary, no food and some of our family members are sick, Abia State Government Is not helping matter because they promised us and now they are failing”.
Another woman who wants her identity conceal said ” my name and so many others were omitted from the payment and for the past 8 months i have not received salary, i have being verified and Still yet no Salary, Abia State is the worst State in South East”.
We made contact to some media aides to the governor, but they all refused to comment.
This is currently happening in Ikot-ekpene road, umuahia right now.
